About us

My Little Barn Owls Nursery and Forest School is situated in the heart of Rural Roberttown set away from the main road, with ample private parking and great outdoor areas.

We are open 5 days a week, 51 weeks a year, excluding Bank Holidays, offering full day care, either on a full week, part week or sessional basis. We offer flexible shift patterns and Term Time only places.

We also offer the new 30 hours funded sessions, along side the 15 hours for 3 to 4 year old’s and 2 year olds and 9 month olds.

We also provide Forest School Sessions for children ages 3 years and above

Our opening times are from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

Our Rooms

We are proud to offer five spacious playrooms, equipped with essential facilities, including toilets on both floors and a kitchen for meal preparations. Our three fully enclosed gardens provide a safe and enjoyable space for outdoor play. The setting is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair access to the ground floor, while the first floor can be accessed via staircase.

Snowy Owl Baby Room

(0-18 months)

Welcome to our baby room, where our dedicated staff take pride in offering flexible, individualised care. We encourage children to explore the environment and express their preferences while enjoying their time at nursery.

Our daily planning includes a diverse range of activities and learning experiences, such as Pasta Play, Sensory sessions, and Musical Time, to ensure every child has a joyful and enriching experience.

Tawny Owl Room

(18-30 months)

At My Little Barn Owls, we offer a variety of planned activities each that help children develop essential skills. From creative arts like painting and messy play to engaging role play and outdoor adventures - we encourage exploration and growth.

Our children enjoy experiences such as pasta play, sand and water activities, and walks to local places, all designed to foster their development in a fun and positive environment. Each activity aims to inspire creativity and understanding of the world around them.

Barn Owl Room

2-3yrs (30-42 months)

Welcome to our Barn Owl room - a natural and spacious environment designed for your child's growth and exploration. With direct access to vast garden, your little one can enjoy fresh air and exercise daily, all while being supported by our friendly and enthusiastic staff.

We believe that every child should feel valued and included, and our responsive staff ensure that their immediate interests and needs are met. Here, your child will thrive in a safe, flexible setting that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.

Eagle Owl Room

3.5 - 5yrs (42-60 months)

Here, we foster and curiosity through a thoughtfully organised space that encourages self-selection. We provide self-service at mealtimes, promoting social interactions and communication skills with staff support. With a rich set of resources and engaging activities, we ensure your children are stimulated, enjoying their time and achieving their early learning goals with the EYFS national curriculum.

Wise Owls Pre -School

(42 months onwards)

Welcome to our dedicated space designed to help children prepare for school. We collaborate closely with local schools to ensure a smooth transition for each child, fostering their confidence and for the educational journey ahead. Our mission is support both children and parents during this important time, making process as seamless as possible.

The Owl's Den, Out of School & Holiday Club

Welcome to our Out of School and Holiday Club, based at the vibrant Roberttown Community Centre. We’re proud to work closely with local schools including Roberttown, Headlands, Norristhorpe and Artshead Primary Schools. Our club is open to all children and offers plenty of space for fun, play and activities, including access to a large outdoor area. During school holidays, children can enjoy exciting days out such as beach trips and farm visits – all designed to create happy memories and lots of smiles.

Forest School

Welcome to our Forest School Group Sessions at Barn Owls! Our passionate and dedicated forest school team has meticulously crafted these sessions to cater to the needs and development of your children.

Located in a charming woodland area right next to our nursery, kids will immerse themselves in nature, gaining hands experiences that foster curiosity and creativity.

During these sessions, children will engage in exciting activities like den building, creating cosy fires, and constructing bug houses, all while learning about the environment around them.

We believe in the power of nature to and teach, and our forest school experience offers a unique opportunity for children to connect with the outdoors and develop essential skills. At Barn Owls, we take immense pride in providing this special, ensuring that every child leaves with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. The Owl's Den
Out of School & Holiday Club

We’re proud to announce that The Owl’s Den is now based at the Roberttown Community Centre. Our Out of School and Holiday Club provides a safe, welcoming environment for children from local partner schools including Roberttown, Headlands, Norristhorpe and Hartshead Primary Schools. With access to a large indoor space and generous outdoor areas, children have plenty of room to play, explore and unwind. Our sessions include a wide range of engaging activities such as arts and crafts, baking, games and creative play, all designed to build confidence, friendships and independence.

During school holidays, children can also enjoy exciting trips out, including beach adventures and farm visits, giving them the chance to explore new places and create lasting memories. We’re passionate about offering a fun, nurturing space where children feel happy, supported and excited to come back each day
