Is your child eligible for early years funding?

Funded Childcare Options

Funding from 9 Months

Working parents may be eligible for Government-funded childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months old. This funding is designed to support working families and can be used with registered childcare providers like My Little Barn Owls. Eligibility depends on factors such as employment status and income. Funded hours can be used alongside paid sessions.

Funded Early Education for 2-Year-Olds

Some 2-year-olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of free early education per week (term time) through Kirklees Council. This funding is usually available to families who meet certain criteria, such as receiving specific benefits or having a lower household income. It offers children the chance to learn, play and socialise in a nurturing environment before turning three.

Funded Childcare for 3 & 4-Year-Olds

All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week during term time, regardless of family income. Eligible working families may also be able to access up to 30 funded hours per week, providing additional support with childcare costs.
